MAKESHIFT, alertly ridden, took command at once, established a clear lead before reaching the stretch, but was ridden out to retain her advantage. FLYING KING, a forward factor from the start, came determinedly when hard ureed during the drive, but was unable to menace the winner. JOIS raced evenly throuehout and had no mishaps. TOMLUTA, superbly handled, took command at once and, shaking off the early bid of WISE FATHER, responded when ridden out through the stretch to retain his advantage over CERBERLS to the finish. The latter, a forward factor throughout, made a eame bid in the final quarter, but was unable to reach the winner, though easily best of the others. TEX HYGRO, away slowly, saved ground until reachine the stretch, but was unable to threaten the leaders when put to punishment. BARUNA tired after moving up resolutely in the drive. PARI KING saved ground when outrun early, came through on the inside for the drive, but could not reach the winner, while easilv besting the others. TRAUMELUS tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. TOP SERGEANT was done after the half. KENNETH K.. shuffled bark at the start, was outrun to the stretch and then finished resolutely. MERITORIOUS could not better his position under good handline MAGNETISM had speed to the stretch and then eave way. BALLOTER, on the outside throughout, was never a dangerous factor.
