j j j l | I j j i Alsab Breezes Quarter Mile Against Watch at Homewood HOMEWOOD, 111., June 29.— Mrs. Albert Sabaths Alsab made one of his infrequent appearances on the track at Washington Park this morning and breezed a quarter mile in :253/5. It was his first trial "against the watch" since June 14, when he stepped three furlongs in :40. Alsab has done little or nothing in the way of training since he arrived from Kentucky, nearly two months ago, to give rise to speculation that he will not be ready for racing until late summer or fall. Not since he arrived here has Alsab been called upon to display any speed, even for a short distance, and many are wondering whether the Sabath colt will stand the rigors of hard training. Alsabs general appearance is good, but observers doubt lie will be ready for the Arlington Handicap on July 31, even in the face of stable announcements that he is being pointed for that 0,000 engagement.
