J Merritt Rehearing Case Scheduled for April 18 NEW YORK, N. Y., April 11.— It was announced today that the joint board of The Jockey Club and New York State Racing Commission will hold a rehearing in the case of Robert Merritt on his application for a riding license on Tuesday, April 18. The joint board will be composed of Alfred Hennen Morris and Joseph E. Davis, stewards of The Jockey Club, and Herbert Bayard Swope, chairman of the State Racing Commission, and commissioner Ashley Trimble Cole. Swope will act as chairman of the board and by his direction the hearing will be public. The hearing will be held at 7:30 oclock in the evening in Room 500 of the state office building at 80 Centre Street, New York City.
