I I I I I 1 — — a— — eaa— Maryland Notes PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., April 17. Adam Scotty Prain is attending to the |bulk of the riding for Richard Pending. T. A. Sears Tagel, a promising three-year- .old, gets top billing in this stable. Agent Goldie Mitchell is going great guns with his two riders at the meeting. After taking the job as stable agent for H. G. Bedwell, Mitchell took over the book of Leonard Bowers, and the following day contracted to work for Carson Kirk. Although there is an overflow of horses on the grounds and at Laurel, there were only two races which drew the limit field of 12 starters. Trainers have been unable to get their charges up to a race, due to the two late snow storms just before the meeting got under way. Raymond "Sonny" Workman, formerly one of the top riders of the country, was a visitor here this week. Workman, who spent his afternoon wtih Jack Healey, one of his closest friends, is lighter now than he was during his last two years in the saddle. Hilton A. Dabsons Nances Ace, winner of two of her three outings in Florida this winter, one race being three-quarters of a mile in 1:1025, is training in a satisfactory manner and will be placed in an overnight race in the near future. Dabson has always been fond of this filly but she failed to stand training last year and was only light-1 ly campaigned.
