Fairmount Applies for Spring Dates From May 27 to July 4 COLLINSVILLE, 111., April 17 —The Fairmount Park Jockey Club has, according to information here, filed with the Illinois Racing Board applications for spring and fall dates. Under dates requested the earlier meeting would open on May 27 and continue through July 4, with no racing on Mondays. The latter session would have its opening early in September. Foundations for six barns, which will be larger than those on the grounds, have been laid and the structures will be ready for occupancy within three weeks. The additional barns will increase to 800 the number of available stalls. Fire swept 1 1 barns shortly after the close of fall racing here last year. D. C. Burnett, general manager of the track, and racing secretary Richard Leigh have been here for some time.
