New York Notes JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y.. April 17. Jockey R. Mozer arrived here to join the large colony of riders now at the Jamaica course. Four claims were filed during the first six days of the Jamaica meeting, totalling ,900. John B. Partridge paid the highest price of these when he dropped ,200 in the claiming box and led away Top Valley. Trainer C. Wilhelm registered 18 head and a pony at the secretarys office here belonging to W. E. Boeing. The string is headed by Slide Rule and Devils Thumb. Trainer Charles Shaw is seeking stable reservations for the New York season, according to Information received here today. Owner-trainer Gus Simone registered the horses Hi Gus. Big Dora and Hi Lucille at the secretarys office over the week-end They are all three-year-olds that he will campaign at the current meeting. Trainer George Odom of the Marshall Pield-W. H. LaBoyteaux-Mrs. W. Plunket Stewart and Louis B. Mayer stables reported that his charges are well on the road to recovery from the recent coughing epidemic and will be ready shortly for racing. Horsemen during the day were speculating as to the possibility of changing the name of Col. C. V. Whitneys Pukka Gin to its original designation, Pukka Gen. They recalled another instance of a misplaced letter some years ago when P. T. Chinn registered a two-year-old as Piuta and the name was designated as Pinte. Steve Brooks, who went to visit his wife, who is ill in Dallas, Texas, reported that she was much improved. Brooks will be here on Monday to ride,
