Platter Out of Derby BALTIMORE, Md., April 17.— Word was received from trainer W. F. Mul-holland that George D. Wideners Platter, early favorite for the Kentucky Derby, would pass up this test ami be shipped here to compete in the fifty-fourth running of the time-honored Pimlico Preakness. Platter was unable to reach the winners circle until the meeting here last fall and then took top money in the Walden and Pimlico Futurity. The son of Pilate — Lets Dine was made a supplementary entry to the Preakness when officials received a check for ,500 from owner Widener.
