The horses are Bless Me, a five-year-old owned by Darby Dan Farm, and By Jimminy, a three-year-old owned by Alfred P. Parker. Both horses were bred by Col. E. R. Bradley and later sold to their present owners, and both are out of the Bradley mare Buginarug. Bless Me is a son of imported Sickle and By Jimminy is a son of imported Phara- mond II. Some breeders call them broth- ers in blood" because Sickle and Pharamond II. are full brothers.
