Fairy Manah in Training SAN MATEO, Calif., April 18.— C. R. West, trainer of the horses owned by Walter G. McCarty, reports that Fairy Manah is only a few days away from a race at Bay Meadows. Fairy Manah, a son of Man o War — Star Fairy, was purchased by McCarty ostensibly because of his excellent prospects as a stallion, but he was placed back in training after a long lay-off in the hopes that he might race one more season. Foot trouble has kept him out of competition for a long time, but right now West say he appears to be coming along splendidly. Whether, however, he stands the rigors of hard training and competition this year he Is certain to be retired to the Mc-|Carty stud at the end of the season.
