I The Krehbiel horses are at Nashville, in I charge of George White and will be I shipped from that point to Detroit. According to word received here, the I River Downs track near Cincinnati, will be I opened for horses on April 24 and from that date on kept in top condition for I training. Requests for stalls should be forwarded to Henry Van Zandt, racing secretary. T. C. Melrose has purchased, at private terms, Valdina Herman from Henry Knight. The acquisition will be shipped here this week from Memphis, Tennessee, where the three-year-old has been turned out. Stable registrations for the Keeneland meeting which opened Saturday, have passed the 200 total and late additions may increase by ten or more the present total of 201. James T. Clarke reports 196 stables already registered for the Churchill Downs season. The horses of Capt. E. N. Bisso. of New Orleans, will race under the nom de course of Capital B. Farm. Jockey W. Morrissey arrived from Miami and reported to trainer L. V. Bellew, Jr. The stables of Mrs. E. H. Augustus and O. F. Woodward checked in from Miami with Harry Trotsek in charge of the 12 head. Nine horses, the property of I. J. Collins. chairman of the Ohio Racing Commission. were vanned from Lexington. Charles W. Damon directs the conditioning of the i steeds, one of whom is Play Bob, winner of one division of the 1943 Thoroughbred I Club Dinner Purse. Lawrence Irish" Boyle, custodian of the jockeys quarters at Hialeah and Garden State Park, has been engaged for a like I i position at the approaching North Randall meeting, slated to open May 11. Ray Hoertz Is receiving entries for the Keeneland at Churchill Downs meeting at Douglas Park. Hoertz remains at the Beechmont track until 9:30 each morning. Joe Smith, owner of the Kentucky Derby candidate Top Ceiling, and Augustus B. Fully recovered from illness which kept I him indoors all of last week, Blen Pal, one s of the better two-year-olds in the Circle M j establishment, resumed training this morning. Arthur Goldblatt, western turfman, is . here and will remain for 10 days. The . former Cincinnatian, who has trained with 1 no small success, would consider taking over the training of a limited number of horses. Trainer L. Thompson loaded the Jules s Fink horses and got away for New York. Thompson shipped Kesargo, Flaming g Chance, Ariel Show, Crazy Horse, K. Dorko, , Listing, Saguaro, African Sun and Erazal. Among the horses Harry Trotsek has here are two belonging to Mrs. E. H. Augustus, five owned by O. F. Woodward, two 0 the property of Mrs. J. F. Hines and two o to race under his wifes colors. The horses Spike J., Palsak, Uncle Barb J and Prince OMars were registered by William Sailes. Trainers Howard Wells and Jack Hod-gins - spent Sunday at Lexington where divisions i- of their stables are training. J. T. Taylors good broodmare Planetoid foaled a filly by Cant Wait at the Hart-land Farm several days ago. J. Warfield Rodgers, owner of one of f the stronger stables here, is arriving Thursday - from his home in Memphis. His local al stay will embrace several weeks. A claim was filed for H. M. Walkers "s Greenock Image, a starter in the eighth h race at Keeneland at Churchill Downs 0 meeting Monday, but it was disallowed due le oO improper signature.
