Alquest Goes Mile in 1 :294/s In Flashy Trial for Ben Ali LOUISVILLE, Ky.. April 18.— Prepping for the ,000 added Ben Ali Handicap, Saturday feature of the Keeneland Association, Alquest, one of the stars of A. C. Ernsts stable, was seen in the fastest mile training move of the season when he covered that distance in 1:39*5 under excellent training conditions at Churchill Downs here this morning. The four-year-old son of Questionnaire and Lilac Day was rated through his move at an even pace. He completed half the distance in :49, three-quarters in 1:14 and was still in hand as his rider guided him past the final marker. Trained by Jack Skirvin, the Cleveland-owned colt may find among his opponents over the mile and a sixteenth of Saturdays stake such able performers as C. U. Yae-gers Parasang, R. W. Mcllvains The Native, H. P. Headleys Anticlimax and Dearborn Stables Samborombon.
