Smartly handled by Kenneth Scawthorn, , who was piloting his second victory of the I day, Mixer reached the end of the one mile s and seventy yards journey, a length before ! I ā–  I : , I s ! A. J. Vilones Victory Drive, who bested W. I. Lunts Total Eclipse by a nose margin for the place award. Only six started in the headliner. Miss Margaret McCullums favored Reztips, Lyle Phillips Star Whiz and Walter Gullatts First Draft, following the placed horses to the wire in that order. Jockey Kenneth Scawthorn made it a triple for the afternoon when he scored a front-running victory in the seventh with H. H. Haag s five-year-old Epithet gelding, Amazed.
