SPIRITUAL, outrun early, responded to steady urging entering the stretch, continued to gain while getting through on the inside and was up in time to catch PHARFOX in the final strides. The latter, a forward factor earlyi made his move rounding the final turn, assumed command and just failed to last. BROCADE assumed the lead leaving the backstretch, but weakened under pressure in the final furlong. SHOOT FIRST saved ground early, was sent up on the outside entering the stretch and failed to gain under intermittent urging. STORMY BILL had no mishap.
