SUFFICE, away well and having speed, was under a strong hold to the stretch, took command quickly and continued well to the end. CARLASUE raced wide and closed resolutely. RHODYS GAL raced evenly. EXPORT, in hand early, did not rally and gave way gradually in the last three-sixteenths. ATOKA LAD was held safe. SGT. RICE showed little. Due to darkness and a heavy rain, much of the running was so obscured the contestants could not be identified from a point about a sixteenth after the start to midstretch. STONES THROW began well, was on the inside in the stretch and, wearing down SWEET REWARD, drew away The latter, also away fast, displayed good speed in the footing to take an early lead, was near the middle of the track in the stretch and, while not good enough, held on well. SWEET COMET drew clear quickly, was rated along to the last three-sixteenths, drifted in when beginning to weaken entering the last furlong and just lasted. PRAIRIE FLOWER, taken to the inside early, swung to the outside as the winner crossed before him entering the last furlong and, holding on well, might have gotten up in another stride BUZZY BOY, under light pressure in the final quarter where he raced wide, held on gamely. GIGOLBURY, well back to the stretch, closed well BEAN POT lacked speed throughout. GREAT CARD weakened suddenly when entering the final quarter AIR VICTORY began slowly. CHANCE DAY raced into command while in hand, was shaken up in the last eighth and, tiring, won under pressure. WOODFIN, a factor from the start, cut to the inside in the last quarter and closed resolutely. GENL MANAGER raced wide throughout, ~»*ered contention with a rush after reaching the last three-sixteenths and continued wefl to the end. STARS AT NIGHT, slow to respond, closed fast. TOP BOOK, handicapped by losing a bandage, was holding on courageously at the end. OMPALO weakened gradually under pressure. 0LGA S. flattened out badly in the last quarter. OLD SILK, away slowly, bettered her position gradually, swerved repeatedly after getting to the front in the drive, but, shaking off GOLDEN CROSS, held ROTATE safe. The latter, a strong factor from the beginning and well in hand to the last three-sixteenths, was racing well when the swerving winner placed him in fairly close quarters, but weakened when clear in the late stages. CRIMSON TIDE, badly outrun to the stretch, closed strongly, but pulled up sore. GOLDEN CROSS had speed and bore out gradually when weakening. UPFRONT weakened after moving up in the drive. GOOD GROUND was unable to keep up. VALDINA BRIGHT saved ground, but offered no serious contention. CINESAR was through after reaching the stretch. JUNE T. easily raced TOY-QUAY into submission, drew clear entering the stretch and, placed to good pressure, gamely resisted the strong and extended challenge made by SO PROUDLY. The latter, under snug restraint entering the stretch, swung wide entering the final quarter and withstood an extended drive gamely, but was not good enough. BABY GOLD began to improve her position after reaching the last three-eighths and continued determinedly to the end. PURITAN raced well to the last three-sixteenths, where he weakened. FIVE A. M. did not keep up when the real test came. BODENS PAL passed tired horses. TOY-QUAY had early speed. BIG ALBERT pulled up sore. GENIES MATE saved much ground, but quit badly. VERO LUMEN, taken under good restraint after reaching the first turn, held sway easily to the last three-sixteenths, withstood pressure gamely, but just lasted. NOSTALGIA, cut off in the run to the first turn, continued on the inside when clear, made her bid gradually and barely failed to get up. INDIAN GIVER, rated to the stretch where he came to the outside, made a determined effort under strong handling in the last three-sixteenths. VAN OR weakened badly in the late stages.
