CELLOPHANE swerved to the extreme outside, then raced true, responded when urged, assumed command and held his opposition safe. MEDALIST was slow to begin, worked his way up on the inside and finished with good courage. ANECDOTE, a prominent factor from the beginning, had no mishap. SCRIBE showed a good effort. JOLLY SOUL dropped back after the beginning and, rounding the stretch turn, went to the outside, responded to urging and wore down the leaders in the final furlong. PEBBLES HABIT broke slowly and moved up under urging, was trying to bear out in the stretch, but finished well STAN TRACY forced the pace from the beginning and held on well. ALSTIMU was hustled into a long lead, held on well under urging for five furlongs and tired. SCHOOLMAN showed an even effort. JARVIS BAY had no mishap. FERRY COMMAND could not keep up. FAIR CRYSTAL showed speed on the flat while jumping well, responded to urging in the final furlong and withstood the determined bid of REFUGIO to outfinish him at the end. REFUGIO was slow to settle in his stride, moved up determinedly entering the final furlong, then hung. YANKEE CHANCE showed a good effort, but could not menace the leaders.
