RIP AWAY, slow to begin and far back to the stretch, came between horses on the final turn and, responding readily when ridden out, disposed of the* leaders to win going away. ANNIES REPLY worked her way forward steadily and reached the lead when settled for the drive, but was not good enough for the winner. ROYAL RED raced evenly without mishap and gave a good effort. BOY-PLIN, slow to begin, improved his position steadily under good handling and finished fast under punishment. JOHN Q. PUBLIC forced the pace to the final furlong, then weakened GYPSTER was outrun. BONEVA M was never a serious threat. INCRESCENT had early speed, but failed to stay ANTHEM assumed command early and made the pace to the stretch, then weakened. VICE ADMIRAL could not keep up. ARIEL ACE assumed command before going a quarter, held on willingly when set down during the stretch run and withstood GREGALACH. The latter improved his position steadily to the final quarter, drifted out badly during the drive and could not menace the winner, although easily best of the others. WOW, outrun during the first half mile, closed fast under punishment, giving a good effort. SPIRSILLA began fast and failed to stay after displaying early speed. HIGH EGO, away slowly, was hustled fast to reach serious contention and tired badly from his early effort. MRS. VALENTI could not keep up. Scratched— 98024 Wee Admiral, 120. SIR SPRITE was taken back after breaking alertly, worked his way forward steadily under handling to the stretch, responded to punishment to assume command and held DARBY DIMOUT safe. The latter, never far back and saving ground from the beginning, came willingly when set down for the drive, but could not reach the winner. TOP REWARD, far back and outrun to the stretch, finished fast on the outside. WISE PAISANO moved up boldly approaching the stretch and held on well to the last furlong, then weakened AIR SAILOR went to the front at once, made the pace to the final quarter under occasional urging, but faiied to stay when roused for the drive, appearing to race as if short. TIGER MAN lacked early speed, but was going stoutly at the finish. UNCONDITIONAL began well, but was forced to take up when caught in close quarters on the first turn and failed to recover MACKS MISS was outrun. CASTLEMAN was done early. VALDINA REX, never far back but on the outside, held on willingly in a good effort. APPOINTEE, on the inside from the beginning, raced evenly. SPEEDWAY began slowly and was never dangerous. SNOOKS WINTERS was far back throughout. EC0M0DATE suffered a bad cut over his right eye leaving the gate, displayed speed to the half, then was eased when he refused to extend himself thereafter.
