• : j Illinois Notes LINCOLN FIELDS at Washington Park, Homewood, HI., June 6. Trainer John M. Goode, who has a publicly owned stable under his care here, departed today for his home in Lexington, Ky., and plans to return in a few days. Jockey W. "Billy" Parnell packed his tack and left for Detroit, where he plans to resume riding at the Fair Grounds meeting now in progress. Roy "Boots" Dickerson arrived from his home in Miami, Fla., and revealed schooling of horses from the stall gate at Arlington Park will begin next week. Dickerson dispatches the fields at Arlington Park, where a 36-day meeting opens June 20. Joseph A. Kroecks Blue Helen and a two-year-old, Mr. Pilate, were returned here over the week-end from the Detroit Fair Grounds. Blue Helen appeared in the Maple Leaf at the Motor City track on Saturday. Willie Garner, who rode Blue Helen, also returned to this point. Trainer Ike Weil announced the engaging of jockey Andy LoTurco to handle Johnies Bobbie, owned in partnership by Aarons and Hokin, in the Miss America Stakes, main attraction on this coming Saturdays card. Jockey Harold Keene and his agent, Stanley Rieser, leave Thursday for Belmont Park, in New York, where Keene is scheduled to pilot Brown Hotel Stables Saint Nicholas in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. Doras Son and Hasty Rayon, owned and trained by Lester L. Davis, were quartered at this track after vanning in yesterday from Beulah Park. Roscoe Goose is an arrival from his home in Louisville, Ky. The popular horseman will attend to the training of the Brown Hotel Stable horses while Tom Hill is confined to a Chicago Heights, HI., hospital and during the absence of the regular assistant trainer, Wilbur Borton, who took Saint Nicholas and Tidy Sum for J. Graham Brown to Belmont Park, in New York. Trainer B. W. Opperman reported he has turned out Con Merchant at a farm near here for the summer months. Trainer Paul Kelley stated today that Fizzgig and Pritty Watch, both two-year-olds, were altered recently.
