VIM held a narrow advantage to the stretch, drew clear when roused, and was under pressure to withstand the late bid of TRAVANCORE. The latter moved into contention on the turn, was under extreme pressure during the drive, and was getting to the top one. ARDENT MISS raced within striking distance but was slow to respond. GRAND PLAYER continued gamely. PORTO JR. was much used in an effort to attain command and weakened. BOURBON challenged for the lead after a half mile and quit. QUICK NEWS stopped to a walk. BENGAL TRAIL was away tardily but moved boldly from the outside, assumed command in the early stretch and drew clear under intermittent pressure. PINTAIL SPRIG was slow to respond and made up no ground on the top one through the final furlong. COME ACROSS closed with good energy. BLUE CHINA raced DREAM AMERICA into defeat and faltered DREAM AMERICA set a fast pace for -three-eighths and quit. LITTLE FANG was through early. LAW BOOK tired. AVONWOOD saved ground throughout and responded to strong pressure to outfinish PENSON. The latter raced forwardly from the start, but drifted out all through the stretch. NEW OXFORD showed speed to reach the first flight, but made up no ground DELOVE could not seriously threaten while rallying mildly. I SUPPOSE rallied to late. DONNA BONES tired FLAMING COMET raced on his own courage. NIGHT SOUND was in front along the. backstretch but stopped to a walk. OUR TOPS, knocked back when SELECTOR Jnoved oyer, worked his way between horses and closed full of run. ENDURABLE Improved his position from the outside and tired nearing the end. HALTER sliowed good speed and faltered. WIND BREAK should improve off the race. UPTOWN could not keep up. FLYING ALICE was shuffled back on the inside. AIR MAIL quit WELL MY WORD had a rough trip. SOPHOCLES saved ground while setting the pace, held on well to the final strides and quit. SIR GORHILL raced prominently and failed to respond. LIDO WAY showed speed and weakened. TOP RAIDER lacked a menacing rally. ANCON showed speed, but could not keep up. BANGOR CHANCE quit.
