SWEET DREAM, forwardly placed 3 but on the outside to the upper turn, raced SEQUENCE into defeat after entering the stretch, then held on Z. determinedly to withstand EVANSTEP. The latter, outrun early and roughed near the three-eighths pole, — came strongly when clear and was getting to the winner at the finish. OUR REQUEST raced evenly to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive, then was unable to better her position while under brisk urging. BROWNIAN, slow to reach best stride and outrun to the final quarter, finished fast under punishment SEQUENCE began fast, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered when challenged by SWEET - DREAM. MISS MOMMY, on the inside from the start and in tight quarters nearing the stretch, was unable •± to better her position when clear for the drive. BLUE HELEN, between horses during the first three-eighths, made a mild bid entering the stretch, then weakened nearing the finish. LITHE was never a serious factor. SUN HEROD, away fast and never far back, was sent to the outside of PORTERS BROOM entering the stretch, overcame interference when the latter was permitted to drift out and was up in the concluding strides. PORTERS BROOM raced keenly throughout, took command after three-eighths of a mile, bore over on SUN HEROD during the final furlong and was unable to withstand the latter although easily best of the others. BIG STORY moved up at the stretch turn, but could not better his position under hard riding in the drive. TOUCH CONTROL lacked early foot and was never prominent. TIDY BID failed to stay after displaying brief speed. SHIVAREE began alertly, but could not keep up. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES turf course. No track record. POMPAGLE raced evenly to the stretch, then finished fast under urging. MILITARY 5J.,?.a,w,a£ sI?wly made a bo,d bid approaching the stretch, but failed to stay when set down in the drive.
