Two Italian Drivers Withdraw From 500-Mile Auto Race INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., May 2 UP.— Franco Rol and Guiseppe Farina of Italy, the only foreign drivers nominated for the 500-mile Memorial Day auto race at Indianapolis Speedway, withdrew today because their cars will not be available for the May 30 grind. Speedway president Wilbur Shaw said he had been informed that the new Maserati specials the Italians planned to drive could not be readied in time to make the 3,500-mile trip from Milan, Italy. Gigi Villoresi of Italy, who placed seventh in the race four years ago, was the last foreigner to appear in the event.
