New York Notes JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 2. Apprentice Glenn Lasswell will resume riding on Friday, having outlived a 20-day suspension for rough riding. Jockey George Hettinger has been engaged to ride Spring Hill Farms speedy Nell K. in the Toboggan on Saturday at Belmont Park. Jockey Conn McCreary will join the riding colony at Belmont Park on Monday. A saddle colleague remarked on hearing the news, "They ought to add a new reason for scratching, besides changed track conditions and lameness — a post position next to Conn. He just grabs hair with one hand and the gate with the other and prays." Sheriff John Glier, Eric Guerins agent, will hear the Kentucky Derby broadcast at Saratoga this week-end, figuring the reception will be clearer and that On the Mark will be returned the winner. The popular Jimmy Coleman has taken over the engagement book of the veteran rider, Nick Wall. Coleman enjoyed success training the W-L Ranch string here a few years ago.
