Steel Will Be Delivered To Hialeah as Scheduled Material for New Top-Structure Will Reach Course on June 6 MIAMI, Fla., May 2.— Word that the steel for the new top-structure on Hialeahs grandstand will be delivered on June 6, as scheduled, was received today at the track. Demolition of the present roof will be started immediately upon the unloading of the steel. Foundations have already been poured for the installation, of the new top-structure, and construction is under way on the extension of the grandstand mezzanine, and upper promenade deck the full length of the rear of the structure. The contract calls for erection of the steel to be finished in early August. The new roof will be extended over 1,750 previously uncovered seats at the north end of the grandstand, and over the promenade deck. Additional seating will be gained by removal of the press box to the roof. The rear of the grandstand will be further beautified by the construction of a new twin-towered entrance. Present construction will facilitate traffic considerably at the north end of the grandstand. Sam H. McCormick, Hialeah secretary-treasurer, will be back from South America the last part of the month, and on the scene this summer during the erection of the new top-structure.
