S tears at Churchill CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville. Ky., May 15. — Van Cleve Stears, motored from Lexington today for the Downs sport. Stears was joined here by the well known Fayette county sportsman, Vernon Speed, and Ben Veitch will fly over from St. Louis Wednesday to Join the Lexington men for the final four programs of the Churchill Downs spring season.
