AGENT was in close pursuit of the pace from the outset, loomed a strong threat in the stretch and wore down OUR CRICKET. The latter broke alertly and soon established a clear advantage, then faltered in the drive. COLD HEART, slow to gain stride, was guided to the inside for room and closed strongest. EFCEE swerved during the running. HALCYON CHANCE had no excuse. SWEET GODDESS was outrun. VIRGINIA OAKS tired. IMPASSE broke sluggishly and showed little. • Overweight— Milspal, 1 pound. KASTER, within striking distance from the beginning while on the outside, engaged the leaders, took command leaving the stretch and won easily. FLEET ROSE, with the first flight from the break, went up to be on nearly even terms for the lead entering the stretch, but was no match for the winner while holding on well until the end. WISE MARKET saved ground and had no excuse. NECKTIE lacked speed and raced wide. ALL BOOTS had brief speed, gave way and came out of the race lame. FLYING JIB lacked a rally. STREAKME stumbled badly at the start, recovered quickly and had speed, for a half mile, then gave way. WORLD WAY flashed speed and quit. SWEET COLLEEN stumbled at the start and was eased up when hopelessly beaten. CONGO KING dropped back after breaking alertly, came out for the drive and made up ground rapidly, disposed of COLONEL HOOP and won going away. The latter, never far back, took command when ready, but was not good enough. DANNY C, unhurried early, made a mild bid in the stretch and faltered. BROOKRIDGE, away sluggishly, was rushed along to gain command, drew clear between calls on the turn, bore out leaving the turn and tired from his early efforts. HIERARCH was through early. FIRST GLANCE was on the outside while on nearly equal terms for command, began to move away from TEA-MAKER at the furlong post and drew clear between calls in the final furlong to hold DELEGATE safe under punishment. The latter, slow to gain best stride, came out when ready for ihe drive and closed with a belated rush. TEA-MAKER was a sharp factor while between horses, held on willingly when set down for the drive, but was not good enough. JUMBO, rated along until the final quarter, closed with good courage. BAKERSFIELD had no excuse. HEAP BIG CHIEF alternated for command while on the rail and gave way in the final three-sixteenths mile. TO MARKET was through early. ONE COUNT began alertly and saved ground while forwardly placed, moved between horses along the backstretch to reach nearly even terms for command, took the lead when SUB FLEET gave way at the three-furlong post, became rank and swerved when punished nearing the quarter-mile post, then gradually drew away from BLUE MAN in the drive. The latter, closer to the pace than usual while on the outside, threatened boldly leaving the final turn and held on fairly well through the drive, but was not good enough. ARMAGEDDON made the pace from the start until nearing the mile post, dropped back under rating, then failed to respond when called upon. KING JOLIE trailed until the final sixteenth and caught tired horses. SUB FLEET made the pace on the rail until midway of the final turn and tired badly. OLYMPIC was always far back.
