Catalogue 105 Yearlings For California Breeders Safe HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., June 7. — The California Thoroughbred Breeders Association reports it will catalogue 105 yearlings for its annual mid-summer auction sale at Santa Anita Park oh July 14 and 15. This batch was screened from an original list of 175. Currently in the public eye at the local tracks are some bargains obtained at former vendues of the breeders association, such as Horsetrader-Ed, bought for 50 and wha has earned 9,185; Blue Trumpeter, taken on a bid of ,100 and who has amassed 3,737; Grey Tower, who cost ,000 and has earned 5,000; Tee Dee Gee, taken of the sales ring for ,400 and who proved champion of the juveniles at the Golden Gate Fields meeting, and whose owner recently refused an offer of 0,000 for him; and also Khalati, obtained for 00 and rated one of the best juvenile fillies on the grounds. The association also points out that for the first time in the history of the midsummer sale a minimum bid has been imposed by the committee. No starting bid of less than 00 will be accepted by the auctioneers, the committee members, Carleton Burke, D. S. Jeppson, Lou Rowan and Dr. Frank Miller, have ruled. A drawing for placement on the program has been held and the catalog is now being printed. Booklets will be ready in about 10 days.
