JACKIES FOLLY rushed strongly into the stretch to gain a slight advantage, had to be carefully handled all through the drive while lugging in and ontfinished ALL FOR CIRO. The latter moved from between horses into the stretch to engage the winner and, in a stiff drive, just failed to last while being ridden close by the winner. PARTY POOP found best stride when too late. MOZZEL lacked the necessary response in the drive. BULLISH FORCE gave improved speed in the stretch run. RUNNING K. rushed to a clear lead on the turn, then had nothing left for the final run. BUFORDS GAL was done early. HE WILL faltered in the last eighth. ROCKBROWN rallied strongly into the stretch and, while drifting out the entire final run, was along in the late yards to overhaul CAROLYN L. The latter drew, clear from the field leaving the far turn, opened up a comfortabIe lead into the stretch and, while tiring slightly in the late yards, could not withstand the winner. HOME FLEET dropped back leaving the far turn, then, coming between horses in the stretch, finished with good courage. STANDEE was going willingly when too. late. CRANBERRY JOE made a bid into the stretch, then faltered. AKBULL tired. KING JOLIE raced wide. BIG BRONZE flattened out under pressure. ST. PHILOMENIA had brief speed. PLAY PILOT made a quick move to the leader into the stretch and, after assuming command, drew off and was being eased in the late yards. ADMIRAL ROUS drew off to a good lead leaving the far turn, then was no match for the winner. BENDED KNEE gradually improved position and finished willingly in the final run. IN GATE— 3:25. OFF AT 3:26 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. MR. MELPET rallied from the outside of the leaders, lugged in badly in the midstretch putting I WOULD in tight quarters and, continuing to lug in;-drew clear at the finish. The stewards posted the inquiry sign after the race and after viewing the films, disqualified the winner and placed him third. CHUBBY shook loose from SISTER BEAR leaving the far turn, opened up a good lead into the stretch but could not withstand the winner. I WOULD was moving willingly to the leader when caught between horses in the midstretch and coiild not be fully handled in the late yards. SISTER BEAR faltered under pressure. DEEP STUDY made a good run to the leaders leaving the far turn, quickly assumed command after leaving the eighth pole and, while drifting out slightly, drew off in handy fashion. CHALK TALK dropped back from along the inside going to the far turn and, while rallying in the stretch, only proved best of the others. BARBA SUE took over pacesetting after a quarter mile but weakened badly along the inside in the final run. MR. ASSESSOR showed good speed for a half mile. HI JUDGE had speed for three-eighths. COLONEL ED readily responded when -put to pressure into the stretch, assumed command and, after drawing off, had to be pilt to hard punishment to withstand REFRIGERIQUE. The latter saved ground on the final turn, had to be steadied while blocked momentarily, then, coming between horses, closed with good speed and was getting to the winner. CHILLY PENDE alternated in setting and forced in the pace, then faltered in the final eighth, as did OKEEGAN. PAT FLYWAY loomed a threat into the stretch from the outside, then hung. SAM BROOK rallied after leaving the far turn, was fortunate to find racing room along the hedge going into the stretch and, gaining command in the midstretch, .withstood rivals under stern pressure. SARATOGA PETE made a good move from the outside into the stretch, was carried out slightly and finished with good courage. ROCKIE had to be steadied when rallying into the stretch when blocked, then, coming to the extreme outside, closed with a sharp burst of speed. PADDYS DAY remained in hand behind the leaders on the final turn, slipped inside them to ga?n command, then held on fairly well under pressure. WAR AND PEACE set the pace along the inside, drifted out slightly into the stretch bumping with KINGTOWN, then weakened. PAVION moved easily to FRALUXE before entering the stretch but had to be put to strong pressure to outfinish that rival. FRALUX-opened up a clear lead from the start, set the pace under rating, appeared well beaten when challenged by the winner but held on with good courage the remainder of the trip. JACK KENNY made up some ground late without threatening the top pair. BOKEER dropped back along the inside to the far turn, then, coming to the inside of the leaders in the stretch, loomed a threat only to falter under pressure.
