OFF AT 5:34 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. LAND OPEACE, well placed early, was forced to the outside at the stretch turn and, responded readily when straightened for the drive, disposed of the leaders and won going away. PATROLMAN PETE raced evenly to the stretch, reached the lead between calls during the drive but could not stay with the top one. OCTAGONAL began alertly, lost command after going a quarter mile but came again to reach the lead during the stretch run and then weakened. EGOTISTICAL raced forwardly placed Sly.,* the stretch and then gave way. TIPPECANOE began slowly and could not threaten the leaders. OLYMPIA S ACE raced wide. CIVET made a mild bid in the early stretch and then failed to stay. BIT-0-SPORT had no mishap. EL HAWA, forced back after the break, failed to recover. RETREAT raced prominently to the final furlong and then stopped badly. NALUR, on the outside throughout, showed little. TROUBLE MAKER II had no excuse.
