Honor Late Turf Editor CALIENTE, Tijuana, Mex., June 24. — The Maurice Bernard Memorial Handicap, honoring the late turf editor of the Los Angeles Examiner who succumbed recently to a heart, condition, will be the chief feature of Sundays racing program at this track. In announcing the tribute to Bernard, John S. Alessio, executive director of Caliente, stated that the track is also contributing ,500 to start a trust fund for the education of the late writers two daughters, Kathleen, 16 and Maureen, 13.
