SOLAR STAR, never far back, came nut slightly entering the stretch and. after taking command, withstood a brisk drive to hold OLD WHITEY -=ato. The latter, a forward l.nior thraugheat, efosed gamely under punishment, but could not overhaul the winner. POMTONIA saved ground from the stait. re-ponded to stum™ handling in the stretch, but could not reach the leaders. ROYAL SILVER, much used engagine LADY BOSWELL during the first half, drifted out badly on the final turn and could not threaten after straightening up. CHARGE raced treaty and had no excuse. CfflCONA was outrun. LADY BOSWELL made the pace to the stretch under pressure from ROYAL SILVER, but failed to siav in the drive. OSLLLIVAN, a sharp factor from the start, came out to the middle of the track for the drive and, responding to urging, disposed of DAYIES SISTER in the closing strides. The latter, much used engaging TWO DOWN to the stretch, reached the lead when settled tor the drive but could not withstand the winner. GOODY GLMDROP finished strongly under punishment. ABLF: MARINE, outrun early, saved ground on the final turn and closed fast in a sharp effort. TWO DOWN made the pace to the -tretch under pressure from DAYIES SISTER but stopped badly in the drive. ROCKWOOD DAISY broke sluggishlv. LIGHT DONNA, on the outside throughout, tired. FURRDAUBER quit. DARK MORNING gave a dull effort. Scratched— 75439 Charming Saint, 103. SIR PENNANT went to the front when ready, disposed of JOAN ELISE when roused entering the stretch and won as his rider pleased. JOAN ELISE moved up boldly in the opening quarter mile but was not good enough for the winner, although easily be*t of the others. SOFTIE never was dangerous CABBIE BOY began fast but dropped baik immediately after the start and lost ground steadily thereafter. PHANATAM assumed command aetata going a quarter mile, made the pace to the stretch but tired when set down for the drive. BOOM ON began slowly but closed fast. KENGAR displayed good early speed but bore in badly during the stretch run and could not be persevered with during the late staees. CREDENTIALS had no excuses. TWO KICK never was prominent. GROSS PLENTY unseated his rider at the post, galloped off five furlongs and showed little in the running. VERIS begaa slowly. STILL GALLANT lacked early speed. Overweight — Miss Monarch, 2 pounds.
