Musical Jack Retired ARCADIA, Calif., May 31.— Dave Pollock, manager of the Gaffers Ranch at Newhall, has announced that Musical Jack, gallant old campaigner of the West Coast, has been retired from further competition. Musical Jack, although not starting as a two-year-old, was entered in a total of 182 races during his eight years of hard competition and compiled the enviable record of 40 firsts, 48 seconds and 37 thirds, for a money winning total of 5,365.
