Illinois Notes LINCOLN FIELDS at Hawthorne V Stickney. 111.. May 31. Hyman Friedberg. of Louisville, and his wife and son will be here Saturday to see their Port List compete in the Joliet Stakes. J. W. Martin will ride the filly. P. L. Kelley will saddle John Marschs Mighty Story for his engagement in the Joliet Stakes. The horse just arrived from Louisville. | Jockey Steve Brooks arrived from his home in Binkelman. Neb., and hopes to •begin riding again on Monday. I W H. Bishop returned from his home in Anna. 111., and brought with him the horses Ho Hum and Snappy Verse. E. S. Janicki has taken over the training of Stars at Night for E. Green. The horse formerly was conditioned by R. C. Adams. A. M. Jacobus has received the horses Some Man and Cherokee V.. whom Miss Elaine Carpis recently purchased in Louisville from C. R. Valentine. Jockey Marcos Pena arrived from Cuba and applied for a license to ride at Hawthorne. Tom Kelly, head of the Hawthorne police force, says the Decoration Day crowd here was one of the most orderly he has ever handled. A. Cilio has taken over the training of Doug Brashear for R. Burnside. Jockey Billie Nichols has been engaged to ride Knights Gift in the Joliet Stakes for Mrs. Monte Weil. I Jockey T. Bates arrived from California. !
