Devil Diver Given 135 For Toboggan Handicap Has Pound More Than He Carried To Victory in Race Last Season JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 31.— Green-tree Stables Devil Diver, who launched his 1945 debut with victory in the Paumonok Handicap at Jamaica, has been assigned top weight of 135 pounds for the renewal of the 5,000 Toboggan Handicap, inaugural feature of Belmont Parks meeting next Monday. Devil Diver won the Toboggan last year under 134 pounds. Belair Studs Apache, runner-up to the Green-tree star in the Paumonok, is in the famous Belmont sprint with 129 pounds, while Millbrook Stables Alex Barth and William J. Zieglers Wait a Bit are asked to carry 121 each. The others are weighted from 117 down to 105. The Toboggan, at six furlongs, down the Widener chute, closed Wednesday, Mav 23, with 23 nominations.
