LEICESTER, never far back, reached the lead approaching the stretch, gave way momentarily to SISTER FOX and, overcoming sharp interference from the latter, won in the last sixteenth. SISTER FOX, never far back, drifted to the inside when set down in the drive, bothered LEICESTER and was unable to hold the latter, although easily best of the others. ABRAZO, away sluggishly, worked way forward steadily, but could not reach the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. BARTS CHANCE raced prominently to the stretch, then weakened. PUFFED UP dwelt at the start, then finished determinedly under urging. CONNAUGHT lacked early speed. SHOELASS LASS had speed, but failed to stay. KINGSTONE went to the front before going a quarter, then faltered, pulling up very sore. Overweight— Leicester, 2 pounds; Sister Fox, 3; Shoeless Lass, 1. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. EBONY EDGE, much used racing CIRCUS KING into defeat, held on determinedly during the drive to withstand BIG BOZO, despite pulling up very sore. The latter, a keen factor throughout, came gamely when set down in the stretch, but could not reach the winner, just lasting to hold KHAYYAMS KID. The latter raced evenly and on the outside to the final furlong, then closed stoutly under punishment. CIRCUS KING assumed command at once, made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. FOULARD was outrun. SHEILA MAY tired. BUZ OSULLIVAN was never prominent. Daily Double on the First and Second Races Paid .40. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. ACK-ACK, never far back, came to the inside for the stretch run, but could not reach the winner, although easily best of the others. BABY SNUFF forced the pace to the final furlong, then faltered. K. BUN raced evenly without mishap. SURGEON DICK was away poorly, losing all chance. FAIRY TIME was outrun. HIGH BROW tired while racing wide. EXTRICATE was far back throughout.
