Leicester Registers in Game Fashion in Detroit Sprint FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 5. — Improved weather conditions, a fast track and an excellent card, featured with the running of the Three Rivers Handicap and the Bull Dog Handicap today attracted a crowd of some 16,000 Motor City patrons to the Woodward Avenue course. Mrs. Lottie Wolfs Leicester, ridder by apprentice Jack Favorite, scored a game decision in the six-furlong initial event, which matched eight ordinary sprinters. Leicester overcame interference from C and K Stables Sister Fox during the stretch run and reached the wire a neck in advance of his roughing rival. Two and one-half lengths back of the lapped leaders, Mrs. Earl H. Beezleys recently acquired Abrazo finished strongly to nose out Donna Ray Stables Barts Chance for the minor end of the purse. Despite the fact that Leicester raced poorly during the past two seasons, the Wolf colorbearer was installed a .50 choice in the "tote" and he raced the three-quarters over the firm footing in 1:14%.
