COMBAT BOOTS held a fairly prominent position on the inside in the early part and, racing gamely to the "end, had enough to hold FRENDSWOOD The latter was bunched in the first flight most of the way and was racing well at the end. LILBON also finished well. GOING PLACES, off well, had no excuse. DULAT showed good early speed, but faded near the finish. RUSTY BROWN was unable to keep up. WAR BLUES was fractious before the start, but was off fairly well and, racing up on the outside in the stretch, caught GEM STATE to hold him to the end and win under pressure. GEM STATE forged to the front nearing the stretch turn and displayed good form thereafter. SWORDS POINT was in rather tight right after the start and showed a creditable effort in making up ground. PERIPATIC saved ground in the stretch, but was not good enough. ST. RAM, WELLAND and ARTESIAN had some early speed, but quit badly. HONOR ROLL RAN AWAY BEFORE THE START AND UNSEATED HER RIDER. SHE WAS SCRATCHED BY THE STEWARDS AND ALL MONEY WAS REFUNDED. Start good from flag. Won driving; second and third the same. WUNDERPRINZ was badly outrun for the first mile, but came strongly to take the last jump in full stride and catch BOOM BOOM near the finish. The latter was well rated and assumed a clear advantage after taking the last hurdle and it seemed as if his rider might have been caught napping near the end. RIALTO was never far away in a good race. THE MAST improved his position in the final half mile. HIGHBINDER moved up gradually after going half the distance and getting through on the inside of POISON ARROW around the stretch tum, drew out with ease in the last eighth. POISON ARROW went to the front early and raced fairly well, but was unable to resist the winner. KIDDED dropped to the rear soon after the start and made little attempt to run until the stretch was reached, then closed some ground. MUZZLE weakened. OUR TOMMY was close up part of the way. ENDURABLE loomed up dangerously when he took a short lead in the stretch, but was unable to resist the winner, although going well to the finish. DUE REWARD improved her position steadily to become a. strong contender- in the stretch, then weakened. CUP KING lacked early speed and raced. wide in the stretch. RUDDY took a short early lead and went well, but was unable to hold the winner. JOHNS EX was always well up in a good effort, SWEET TALK weakened near the finish. COLONY MISS was going fairly well at the end. ESCONDIDA failed to be a serious contender. SUNGARI unseated her rider before the start and cantered off three-eighths.
