Short, But Sweet Frank Woodland, Saratoga Raceways racing secretary, had a driving career that was short a*nd sweet. As a youngster of 17, he relates, he was standing by the drawgate watching the races at an Ohio fair when a driver suddenly suffered an attack of indigestion. Pressed into service, Woody won the race with a trotter named Hinc-mar, but says he "was more worn out than the horse at the end of three heats and so retired from the sulky for life.
