First Winner for John Carroll BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 20.— John P. Carroll saddled his first winner since recently receiving his trainers license when he sent out his own Knight Alert in the second race. Carroll galloped George D. Wideners Battlefield last year while working for Bert Mul-holland.
