Limit Field to Compete In Ascot Park Flash Purse Hush Money Will Try for Third Straight Score in Sprint Event By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, June 3. — The card for tomorrowi, the second day of this 44-day session, has as its spotlight affair,- a four and one-half furlongs dash for three-year-olds and older horses. Under a title of the Ascot Flash Purse, 16 in all accepted the issue, and the maximum starting field of 10 is assured. T. Dunns Hush Money should be in line for consideration and if the Easy Mon mare canturn in a third consecutive victory she will add 00 of the ,250 purse to her earnings this year. In the most recent victory at Cranwood Park, she was a two-length victor over A. L. Beachs King Gallant. That was at five furlongs arid for platers of the ,000 and ,750 variety. Her time was a commendable 1:01, flat, and just two-fifths of a second off the track record. In a previious victory at six furlongs, she was a neck in front of G. Vills, Jr.s Meddlesome, and with the same class of performers, a return to either of these efforts -would find her dangerous. Her regular rider, the veteran "Willie" Pool, will again have a leg up, and there is little : doubt that the pair will be extremely well I regarded. ! Others of the top 10 to start are C. Brigleys Ducks Luck, J. M. Sloweys and Mrs. C. Petrichs Deeside, Hall and Fetzers Swans Cadet, J. H. Carter and D. Dohertys Russell Cave, Rebecca G- Collins Indchem, Robert Kaprockis Going to Town, W. H. Barkers Pair of Roses, L~ E. Torreysons Touissant, and A. W. Messersmiths Fleeting Rock. The "also eligible" list has some excellent speedsters in the S and D Stables Son Lee, R. Smiths Sweet Irene, the Dorchester Farms Flaming Tera, the Safiko Stables Papaver, and L. B. Lambs Jeanne H. Of the latter group, Jeanne H. would undoubtedly be in line for honorable mention, should the number of scratches warrant her getting into the event. In three outings at Cranwood, she finished third, and then two consecutive seconds. In her lasthe was beaten only a head by the S and rr Stables Where Now. That was at five furlongs, and she held the lead to just inside the sixteenth pole. This distance should be well suited for "an even improved effort. The sixth affair on the card, a six and one-half furlongs dash for ,250 claimers, four years old and older, is titled the Boston Heights, and is in the setting customarily reserved for the co-feature attraction. A group of eight well-seasoned campaigners will vie for the major portion of the 00 purse. Prominent in this field is W. H. Barkers Valdina Ripple, which holds the track record for six furlongs at Cran-Wffod Park, and which turned in two consecutive victories there while going in ,000 and 00 company, respectively. The remainder of the competition will be furnished by Spoke, Equidash, I Tolya So, Busy Liz, See D., Pink Slip and Flash Up.
