BIG QUESTION came wide into the stretch, then caught WHIZ-A-BIT after entering the final furlong, but was doing his best at the end to hold LICTOR The latter improved his position under urging and was gaining with every stride. SO FAIR came stronqlv on the inside near the end and was pressing the first two. MISS NAP made up ground gradually and was going well at the finish. RAIDER LaRUE and COMPARE weakened. BERNROUGH, badly outrun early, was a trailer to the stretch, then came strongly to find an .opening and finishing with a rush passed ANXIOUS in the last fifty yards to win going away, ANXIOUS was in close quarters on the inside on the far turn and was required to take to the outside of the early leaders when straightened out for home, then headed the field an eighth out, but was unable to resist the winner. SAND FLY raced close up on the outside all the way. HONOR DECK loomed at midstretch, then faded. KATAMA was unable to keep up. Scratched— 587674 Turnip Tilly, 109. POSSESS went to the front at the start and, continuing well after being headed by JUDGE J B., caught the latter after entering the stretch to draw out in the final eighth. JUDGE J. B. rushed up on the outside soon after the start to open up a good advantage around the far turn, but was not- good enough for the winner. BIENVILLE closed ground in the stretch and was going well at the end. HIGH HOPES weakened near the finish. JUDGE ROUNDERS was badly outrun in a dull effort. FOURTH RACE 6 1-2 FURLONGS out of chute. SPECIFIC had a rough trip, being forced to take up sharply when in close quarters on the inside around the far turn and was shut off when FANCY FOOD lugged to the rail in the stretch, but persevered in courageous fashion to get to the front in the last sixteenth and hold TUXEDO in a drive. TUXEDO moved up strongly on the outside around the stretch turn and was racing determinedly at the end. FINE FETTLE was badly outpaced, but finished fastest of all. BELCON took a short lead at midstretch, then faltered. FANCY FOOD had good early speed, but tired. RUSTY BROWN, was in close quarters a couple of times in the last quarter. HI DECKER was with the leaders from the start and, saving ground where possible, drew out in the stretch and led to the finish under hand riding. PINES OF ROME was under restraint for the first three-eighths, then moved on the outside, but went to the middle of the track on the stretch turn and was unable to seriously threaten the winner. VINVIC made a strong run after entering the stretch, but appeared to weaken in the last sixtenth. ROCK GARDEN was prominent for a half mile. 0RCAS was leading when she bore out around the far turn, then dropped back gradually. EFFIE W. was in tight quarters on the inside around the far turn. ELJAY raced under slight restraint to the approach to the stretch turn, then set out after OH LEO and, gaining gradually on the latter when straightened out in the stretch, headed him nearing the last sixteenth and drew out slowly near the finish. OH LEO sprinted to the front on the inside soon after the start and set a good pace while saving ground, but, although showing a fair amount of courage when challenged, was unable to last. OLD FIDDLE finished steadily to best ESPINOS IMAGE The latter failed to offer much opposition. McGRATHlANA tired after going a half. FOR RENT was well placed early and had enough speed to keep within striking distance, then took command nearing the last eighth and, going well under hard riding, won by a fair margin. ,PRY PAT was always prominent while racing on the outside and went with good .courage to the finish. SHANE gained steadily in the stretch to loom up an eighth out, but failed to carry on with the same dash. GO GIRL finished fairly well. SAXON CHARM loomed nearing the stretch turn, then weakened, FIRST VERSE was in close quarters on the far- turn, stumbled and almost went to his knees rounding the stretch turn and had little chance. THANK YOU SIR moved up on the outside nearing the stretch turn, but was in the middle of the track in the stretch and lacked his usual finishing strength. TIGER HARRIS and VAR tired.
