CRUSE Staff Correspondent ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, June 21. — Once again racing secretary B. ■ H. Held, has resorted to carding a substitute race in case one of the scheduled eight t races for Monday fails to hold up. However, ■ the smallest field of the original I group is the seventh which has eight drawn into it and they appear a group that can handle any sort of race track. • The substitute race on the other hand has J 16 drawn into it, and they are of the ,250 I claiming specie. The Grove City, an allowance test for four-year-olds and older horses at a one s mile and one-sixteenth mile setting, is the feature attraction. It is the seventh and i thus is the event with the lightest field. Mr. and Mrs. C. Rogers Oyster K. will j definitely find many friends in the wagering. The Oyster Bay gelding was a length victor over a similar group in the fifth race on June 13. F. J. Wilsons Woodmore was second to him in that race and is named again to match strides in this affair. " _ Time for the one and one-sixteenth miles was 1.47%, and while Oyster K. was s a length the best of Woodmore, the latter in turn was six lengths in front of Mrs. J. E. Coxs All for One. The competition for r the major portion of the ,000 purse will 1 undoubtedly rest between the two. Others in the field include Mr. and Mrs. ;. P. Maxwells Oklahoma Kid, J. Bogdans s Bubchas Boy, E. F. Lovelaces The Shacks, i, the Lick Run Stables Ah Oui, and E. D. i. McBrides Panadero. Bubchas Boy will be going postward the e first time in the interest of J. Bogdan as s he was claimed from T. McCarty In the e r 1 ;. s i, i. e s e third race last Friday. The Halcyon boy gelding turned in an extremely fine race to run second to Virginia McKenneys Scotsun. Although his rider, Jockey D. Pinks taff lodged a claim of foul against Craig who was up on Scotsun, it was not allowed.
