Daley went very wide on the turn, losing a half dozen lengths, but got up on the outside In the hist stride of a whirlwind stretch sprint. Lad of Langden broke slowly, but quickly got within striking distance and drew out midway of the stretch like the winner, but succumbed in the last stride. Number One maintained close pursuit of Hcaslip to the stretch, where she went wide and was seriously interfered with. Earl G., away badly, closed a big gap on the extreme outside and was a close up and fast going fourth. Bad News, nearly left, made up a tremendous amount of ground and is extra good. I.olando steadily improved his position. Frank Lord had a rough journey and dropped back on the turn. Sal Volatile broke slowly on the outside and proceeded to force the pace, but tired in the last furlong ot superior race and finished eased up. Gus Straus, in prominent contention almost throughout, ran to the extreme outside in the last quarter, losing much ground. Navajo fenced badly and lost a dozen lengths at the obstacles, but closed up rapidly at the end and is a rare stayer. Sinister made the running for two miles, thea gave w;ay, hut ran a cracking good race. Arian, after forward contention for over two miles, failed to stay. Essex II. also failed to stay and ran a poor race. Bat went well for two miles and a half and is very promising. Falcada broke striding and dropped back slightly, then closed up rapidly in the middle quarter and appeared the winner when beginning the last furlong, but tired in the closing drive. Fair Play, from a good start, was well up throughout and, finishing like a cyclone, just failed to get up for second place. Jim Gaffney was a forward and game contender to the last sixteenth, where he tired. Cowan was unexpectedly prominent all the way arid made a game finish. Spoorier set the pace for five furlongs, but tired badly Nin the closing drive. Lady AVihifred finished unexpectedly close up and in game style. Julia Powel failed to stay. Fort Johnson ran forwardly on the extreme outside. Uncle was repeatedly bumped by Fort Johnson all the way and inadequately ridden. Berry Maid set the early pace on sufferance, but held on unexpectedly well for third place. Senator Barrett came fast from the rear. Sanguine, away badly, closed up witli a rush, but was squeezed and nearly fell when a sure second. Burt G. Lewis finished well and close up. Miss Dclaney got away very badly. Ironsides, well placed and reserved for a mile and a quarter, could never get up in the closing drive and ran a bad race. Zienap ran prominently to the stretch, then tired. Minnie Adams improved her position rapidly on the backstretci when the trace was fastest, but tired as if short.
