NOTES OF THE TURF. Frank Bissicks, aged 73, for many years secretary of tlie old Kentucky Association, died at Lexington, Ky., Friday. The Regiua, Canada, Daily Standard reports that a man by the name of Van Doran, who was arrested for smuggling horses across the line, has been sentenced to a year in jail. Nelson W. Parker has been appointed secretary of the Kings County Fair Association Seattle Racing Association. Mr. Parker was assistant secretary under the late ill-fated Secretary Vande-vintcr. Mr. William A. Pinkerton says that the statement that he "is interested with Sam Hildreth" in Uncle and other horses is not true, and that Hildreth bought the horses with his own money and owns them entirely. Tlie sale of Barney Schrcibers Dr. Logan, 4, by Sain Miss Howard, to E. It. Thomas, was reported from New York some time ago. No such sale was ever made. Bannell only was sold to Mr. Thomas. Dr. Logan is at Woodlands and still owned by Schrciber.
