LALLYS GOOD YOUNGER BROTHER. One of the recent good two-year-olds of England, some critics class him as the best, seen this year is The Xut, by Ampbion Miss Hoyden, and therefore a brother to Lally. He won the Lingfield Homebred Stakes September 27, and of him and the race the Sporting Life expert says: "By some judges The Xut was voted a bit big and hardly ripe, while Corinthian, who, in the absence of Quelparr, started favorite for the Homebred Yearling Stakes, looked very fit and was backed against the field. However, handsome is as handsome does, and with the beautifully framed Portrait, who will win a race some day, cutting down Mr. Coombes colt, it was a . lesson to see how Dillon, drawing up with The Xut, just pulled him together for a stride or so, and then, letting him go, took the measure of his opponents and landed the son of Ampbion an easy winner. It is evident that the brother to Lally is a good colt, lie has had his eyes opened since bis initial outing at Kempton, and as lie has not been bard worked this season, be should mature into a slashing three-year-old, as he possesses every qualification of length, liberty and substance."
