IMPROVEMENTS AT WINDSOR TRACK. Buffalo. N. Y.. July 19. With the Fort Erie meeting more than half over, it becomes evident that this Canadian track will return a handsome profit to its stockholders, this season. Tlie racing has been good and the patronage in keeping. There are many good horses here tha t have not as yet started. They are being rested up by their owners for the fall campaigns. Several stables have elected to ship from here to. Saratoga, among them P. T. Chinn and John Dyment. A majority of the horsemen will go from here to Windsor, however. The Highland Park Jockey Club, which now controls Windsor, has made great improvements in that Canadian course. Several new stables have been erected to take the place of those that were burned last fall. They have been erected on the property that .the club acquired from Joseph James.. A new paddock has also been built. It is on the order of the one at Saratoga, being located In a grove of trees. The improvements also include a clubhouse, which is located below tlie grandstand. The steeplechase course, which is one of the best in Canada, has been given a lot of attention by the track superintendent and is in splendid shape. Messrs. Parmer and Hendrie. who were here for a few days last week, report that they have received applications from some of the best stables In the wast for accommodations at Windsor and that the meeting promises to be the pest ever held at. that point.
