SQUABBLE OVER MONTANA LAW. Butte, Mont.. July 19. Attorney-General Galen has decided that any attempt to hold another race meeting of thirty days duration at Butte, following that of the Butte Jockey Club, would be an evasion of the spirit and intent of the Montana law", even though a new enclosure should be constructed, and the law thereby technically evaded. He has advised the commissioners of Silver Bow County. In which Butte is located, that they should do their utmost to prevent betting covering a more extended period than the thirty days that the present Butte meeting Is scheduled to run. In a spirit of retaliation Abe Cohen and William Meyer, who expected to promote the second meeting, have Intimated that thev will make an etTort to have the coursing races and the Sunday Jockey Club races that are occasionally run in Butte included in the schedule of the thirty days of racing legalized by the statute passed at the last session of the legislature.
