ALFRED NOBLE DESTINED FOR SPRINTS. New York. July 19. Former Alderman James E. Gaffney. says that he believes Alfred Noble is not cut out for long-distance races, but will develop into a sprinter of the Roseben type. As soon as Alfred Noble has filled his stake engagements at Yonkers and Saratoga, Mr. Gaffney thinks he will have Frank Weir prepare the horse for short-distance events, in which the big racer will doubtless appear at the Sheepshead Bay fall meeting.
