Firestone, in rare form, from a flying start, ran in close and persistent pursuit of the pacemaker and finally outstayed Rosimiro in a hard final drive. The latter, away slowly and outpaced in the early running, just failed to get up in a cyclonic rush. Personal forced or set the pace to the stretch, but was caught tn a jam when a sixteenth out and forced to pull up by the leaders coming together. King Cobalt began slowly, but closed an early gap and lapped the pacemaker in the second quarter, but quit badly In the stretch and is still short. Glennadeane broke slowly, but steadily improved her position and got up in the last stride.. Zacatecas lapped the pacemaker on the inside for the first furlong, then was crowded out and maintained nearest pursuit and finally headed him in the stretch, but succumbed finally to the winner and was unlucky and best. Little King, from a living start, set the pace and, crossing over early and displacing Zacatecas. held sway to midway of the stretch and tired; Zephyr was badly outpaced all the way. Gloriole, from a striding start, held a brief lead and was afterwards patiently reserved in striking distance of Ruble and overhauled him decisively at the end. Ruble drew out in the second quarter and led by a wide gap to midway of the stretch, then quit badly. Black Hawk, well up throughout, was a game third and likes a slow track. Profit, prominent for seven furlongs, tired finally. Choirmaster of Chesterhrook, palpably short, ran forwardly for six furlongs. Sundance, away slowly, improved her position steadily. Ronnie Iiard held on well up throughout. Paul Ruinart showed early speed, but failed to stay. Van Den was i-alpablv handicapped by the going. Pretend lapped the pacemaker from the start, drew out midway of the stretch and won off pulling up. iViupla set the pace for five furlongs and succumbed into a game second. Busy ran well-up throughout and finished wearing the favorite down for second place. Medallion ran in prominent contention for five furlongs and is extra good. Jacquelina, a slow 1eginner and a bad last for the first furlong, closed an immense gap in the last half in a game effort. Fauntleroy was never dangerous. Angcrona and Democrat were always outpaced. Rose Beaumont, well up in the early running, closed ur fast in the last quarter and got up in the- last stride for second place. Michael Beck loomed up prominently at the end of six furlongs, but failed to stay. Ruxton was never dangerous. Sandpiper is in jioor form. Joe Rose quit very badly at the end of a prominent half.
