ANOTHER CASE OF NIGHT RIDING 1 Detroit, Mieh.. August 19. Another mysterious case of taking a horse from the stable and returning him in an exhausted condition, was reported today by Dave Henry, trainer of Barney Schreiliers stable. The victim in this case was Dr. Waldo Briggs, carded to start in the fifth race. The colt, dnriug his trainers absence, had been subjected to rough treatment, his plates being nearly worn off and his heels badly bruised. There can be no doubt that ho was taken from the stable, according to trainer nenry, as lie alleges the colt was mud stained from nose to heels. An extra force of detectives and night watchmen has been constantly patrolling the grounds and stables in search of anyone who nay he opening stall doors to allow the horses freedom, but they saw nothing unusual during the night and discredit the stoo- regarding Dr. Waldo Briggs.
