RALPH T0ZER IN BAD WAY. San Francisco. Cal.. September 11. Ralph Tozer. well known on the turf as a newspajier writer, delirious and suffering from the effects of a nervous lreakdown. escaped from the nurse .at his home ttr Alameda one night recently, and fled through, the streets. Search by the police failed to locate him and his wife, fearing that he would commit suicide, notified Ills friends in the different bay cities. Though the police were on the lookout, Tozer eluded them and made his way across the bay to the house, of a friend In this city. He was possessed of a suicidal mania, but was calmed by his friend ai-l detained until he was taken in charge by . a physician, who returned him to his home In Alameda. Tozer has been; under the care of a physician for nearly a year and was, until recently, a patient at a sanitarium in LIvermore. His wife. told the police that her husband complained of the close watch, maintained upoa his actions, "
