NOTES OF THE TURF. P. P. Pomeroy. who is to officiate as presiding judge at the Buena Vista meeting, which opens September IS. has arrived at Salt Lake City, from Chicago to prepare the program for the opening week. Colonel -Alex. -Brewster, an old-time racing man of New Orleans, was at Sheepshead Bay Thursday. Colonel Brewster was a prominent man in the old Louisiana Jockey Clnb. 116 docs not beltevc that racing is permanently done for in New Orleans. The Coney Island Jockey Club has announced the closing on October 3 of the Great Filly Stakes of 1912 for foals. Tlie Great Filly of 1912 will be a ,500 added money race. Yearling entries for the Lawrence Realization of 1912, a ,500 -race, are due the same day. David Dunlop. who went, to Baltimore last week for the Maryland Hunts meeting, has returned to Sheepsliead Bay. Mr. Dunlop won three, races with Touchwood, but did not have much luck with his other horses. He left John Pangle: with the entire string at Pinilico to get ready for the autumn meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club.
